Developed in consultation with industry, Fitness Coach will train you in the essential skills needed to launch your fitness career.

Delivered by our expert Coaches in a dynamic and engaging online training environment, you will learn how to incorporate the latest health, fitness and training principles into your programs, as well as nutritional information to strengthen your ability when conducting fitness tests and appraisals with your clients. In addition, you will also gain an understanding of how to work effectively in sport, fitness and recreational environments, including how to apply risk management processes.

On a practical level, a range of gym activities that focus on strength, stamina, flexibility, and effective circuit training will be covered within the course. Please note, Provide First Aid HLTAID011 will need to be completed externally.

Entry requirements

Students must be at over 16 before they begin SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness. They must also have a computer and internet access, a passion for fitness, and meet the AIF’s acceptance criteria. This includes an eligibility interview and demonstrating satisfactory levels of language, literacy and numeracy.

What are the entry requirements at the Australian Institute of Fitness?

Each student must meet our acceptance criteria and age requirements before studying with AIF. The AIF acceptance criteria assesses the skills and values of each and every student, such as punctuality and attitude, ensuring we are bringing the best people into the industry. We also verify you have the tools required to succeed, necessary written and verbal communication skills, and are committed to your goal.

How old do I have to be to study at the Australian Institute of Fitness?

You must meet the age requirements for the course you intend to study. To study a SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness you must be at least 16 years old on your course commencement date. For a SIS40421 Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40221) you must be at least 17 years old on your course commencement date. To study for a career in massage with AIF, you must be at least 18 years old on your course commencement date.
