AIF Announces New Industry Partnership with FTI

Jul 28, 2020 | by Jessica Bryant

Australia’s most established fitness training organisation partners with leading functional training educator.

Australia’s largest and longest-standing fitness training organisation, the Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF), has partnered with the Functional Training Institute (FTI); the leading education provider for functional training courses, with a vision to maximise the impact of coaches globally.

The partnership will see tried and tested elements of FTI functional training methodology incorporated into the AIF’s flagship Master Trainer Program™. FTI’s content will underpin the Industry Skills Workshop, where students receive training in kettlebells and suspension that will see them able to be insured and apply these skills as soon as they are active in Industry. For those training to become qualified fitness professionals, this move will further enhance the practical value of a course that is already extremely highly regarded throughout the industry, perhaps most importantly by fitness facility employers looking for personal trainers with the skills to deliver the type of training expected by today’s clients.

After many years of association with FTI, a partnership was the next logical step for both businesses. FTI’s mission to equip fitness professionals with high-quality education in the functional training space so that they can safely and correctly train clients in this practical methodology resonates strongly with the AIF’s core purpose.

Established in Sydney in 2009 by Tarek Michael Chouja and Daniel Henderson, FTI has grown into a global brand delivering training to individuals in more than 15 countries. Known in the fitness industry for its innovative creation and delivery of the first accredited kettlebell and battle ropes courses, FTI has evolved its movement-based concepts to formulate its acclaimed Adaptive Functional Training systems (Adaptive FTS), a methodology that is now taught in their Master Functional Trainer program.

By extending FTI’s reach to the nation’s growing frontline of fitness professionals, and improving the professional training and career-readiness of AIF students, the partnership is set to develop business and industry opportunities for both companies.

Announcing the partnership, Kim Horner, Head of Operations at AIF, said “The fitness landscape is continually evolving, and as it does, so do people’s expectations of what they want from their personal trainers. Correspondingly, the AIF has always evolved its courses to meet those demands. Today, functional training is one of those expectations, which is why we are incredibly excited to partner with FTI in order to provide our students with greater practical experience in this area of fitness.”

As part of the partnership, AIF students and graduates will also benefit from a 10% saving on all FTI courses, accessible via a unique discount code.
