The Fitness Zone
Amber Bradley is a successful sportswoman with a number of international rowing medals under her belt. Now, since completing a Master Trainer qualification at the Australian Institute of Fitness she is able to help others achieve their health and fitness goals.
Olympic Bronze Medallist and World Rowing Champion Amber Bradley saw an Australian Institute of Fitness advert in a local Perth newspaper for the Master Trainer course, and thought it looked like an exciting start to a new career.
I wasn't sure exactly what I was getting myself into when I signed up at the Australian Institute of Fitness, but surely I would be well suited to a job where I got to keep fit and healthy while inspiring others to do the same?
After the Beijing Games of 2008, Amber was eager to get more job security as rowing gave her fantastic experiences, however it didn't pay the bills. She tried her hand in sports journalism and PR, but was desperate to have a more active career.
The Institute absolutely changed my life. Signing up to do the course was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Amber was amazed at the professionalism of the team, and said the coaches were an encyclopaedia of knowledge. She was fascinated by the stories they shared, and enjoyed studying in such a vibrant atmosphere. The Institute really seems to attract fantastic and inspiring people. I made some good friends there, and we were able to get very good results thanks to the coaches' helpful advice and understanding.
If you're thinking about it a career in fitness, think no more. As the Nike saying goes, Just do it'.
Working in the fitness industry is a thoroughly rewarding career path, for both the Personal Trainer and the clients they help.
When I first completed the course I got a job as a Personal Trainer, and have since progressed to Business Manager for a boutique personal training centre in Perth.
It has been a richly rewarding experience to work in such a positive industry. I'm so thrilled I have finally stumbled upona career that I absolutely love, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life helping other people achieve their health and fitness goals.
