Justice Crew’s John Pearce is undoubtedly a health and fitness fanatic. As a Master Trainer, and now NutritIon Coach graduate, we thought we’d better catch up with this Aussie musician and find out how he has been putting his Nutrition Coach Course to work and learn his his top nutrition hacks he abides by every day!
For Personal Trainers, giving nutritional advice is limited to within their scope of practise, and while full meal plans are great tools for some, a lot of our clients know what is good food and what isn’t, they merely need help making the correct decision. This is what being a Nutrition Coach is all about.
When we spoke with John, he advised he studied the Nutrition Coach Course to expand his knowledge, and to have further clarity on what is fact, and what is deemed a fad or a trending diet.
“Being a Nutrition Coach, as well as a Personal Trainer is great as it has given me confidence and a greater understanding of how, what, and when to eat, as well as how to maximise results.”
Since graduating, John started training his mother, where she has seen great some results from her hard work. “I started with basic circuit training and gradually increased the intensity as she is quite new to fitness. Coaching her to make better nutritional choices however had the most significant results.” It goes to show you can’t out train a bad diet!
When it comes to Johns nutrition philosophy, he says that flexible dieting is the way to go. “Watching what you eat doesn’t need to be boring, be smart with how you diet as you should be able to maintain it for life.” John also shares that chicken seems to always find its way on his plate as it is a great source of protein, and consuming plenty of water is a MUST every day!
A post workout meal for John usually involves a protein shake, to assist recovery, and of course Nandos chicken…his favourite. “This combination seems to work for me as I feel great and get the results without going insane.”
Justice crew spend a lot of time traveling, so John’s hack for staying healthy on the road includes stocking your hotel fridge with nutritious food, plenty of water, and protein shakes.
John’s number one hack – “Consistency is key to reaching success.” Staying consistent in anything whether it is a diet, training, or work, consistency will get you to your goals eventually. A lot of people give up, which will always throw off any chance of success.
If you are interested in broadening your nutrition knowledge so you can coach your PT clients to further help them achieve their goals, become a Nutrition Coach like John Pearce did.
