Australian Institute of Fitness Launches New Courses
March 26, 2015

Australia’s largest and longest established fitness training organisation, the Australian Institute of Fitness, has announced three new course offerings specifically designed to give fitness professionals the tools to further their careers and stand out in the industry.

What’s on Offer?

Building on from the popular Master Trainer program, which is considered one of the most comprehensive Personal Trainer qualifications in the Australian industry, The Institute’s new Personal Training Specialist course will cover the latest in metabolic conditioning, advanced programming, strength and conditioning and will qualify students with a Diploma of Fitness.

A new Nutrition Coach course will offer fitness professionals the opportunity to be better equipped to provide current nutrition information to clients within their scope of practice, while a new Fitness Business Professional course will give students the tools and confidence to successfully run their own business, including the design and launch of their own personalised website.

Enrolments for the new courses are open now and study will commence across Australia from April 2015. All three new courses are completed via blended study, which includes a mix of online and face-to-face portions of study. Courses are facilitated by expert Course Coaches at one of the Australian Institute of Fitness purpose-built Campuses, located in and around every major Australian city. The Institute will also offer the courses at two new ‘Satellite Campuses’, which have just opened in Orange and Wollongong, NSW. The Institute’s Course Coaches will deliver face-to-face portions of study at the Satellite Campuses.

Personal Training Specialist

Qualification outcome: Diploma of Fitness (SIS50213), Study mode: Blended

For those who want to stand out from other Personal Trainers and are ready for the next step in their personal training career, The Institute’s Personal Training Specialist course will provide students with metabolic conditioning, advanced programming and strength and conditioning skills. In fact, it is the only Diploma of Fitness course in Australia that focuses on metabolic conditioning and advanced programming techniques for both the fit and unfit client.

The course will make students re-think pre-conceived ideas about fat, health and fitness and challenge them to change their approach, giving them the platform to be a pacesetter in the fitness industry. They will become familiar with the latest trends in the industry such as body weight training, ‘The Obesity Paradox’, the concept of TOFI (thin on the outside, fat on the inside), and how metabolic conditioning should be the cornerstone of client training sessions.

This course is hands-on from day one. Students will learn the latest practical and innovative research methods (including the latest in technology and social media) they can use while continuing their business.

This qualification is designed for existing fitness professionals who have considerable experience in exercise delivery and course entry requirements apply. The Institute’s Personal Training Specialist Course Coaches are all university qualified in exercise science, coaching, or physiology, and hold a teaching qualification, with vast amounts of practical experience and know-how in the fitness industry.

Eligible students may now apply for VET FEE-HELP assistance to cover all or part of the course fees for this course. VET FEE-HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme.

From day one, students will learn how to empower clients through real motivational coaching strategies using the latest, evidence-based nutritional principles and practices. It provides solutions to real problems faced by clients who struggle to maintain healthy nutrition choices.
