Getting qualified as a Massage Therapist has been the best thing Tanna Wells, owner of Body Confident Personal Training & Massage, and Massage Coach at the Australian Institute of Fitness SA/NT, could have done to boost her own personal training business.
Once upon a time, clients would cancel on Tanna or postpone sessions due to soreness or injury, but now she can assist and provide massage services, her diary remains full. Biased or not, she now has a full diary with little to no cancellations as she has skills that other Personal Trainers may not.
As our Massage Therapist program at the Australian Institute of Fitness has been specifically designed to support you with your personal training business and clients of the fitness/sports industry, you could very well start boosting business right away. Combine the two where your client gets both; a great PT session followed by a nice relaxing massage all in the one session. It’s a fantastic way to ensure client retention and a new revenue stream to your personal training business.
Massage can really assist clients who are chronically tight and need more range of motion through joints and therefore better assist their performance in the gym. You can apply certain pre-event massage techniques before the workout as well as after to aid in recovery. Your clients will move better, with less pain and get results faster as their body’s getting looked after.
The Massage course will have you working with Coaches, such as Tanna who are currently working in the industry and combining massage with their own personal training. This will enable you to learn all the necessary skills from people with direct experience.
Here’s a brief run-down of the course.
Sessions 1-20 – learn detailed anatomy of bones and muscles as well as locating them on the body, while learning to administer a full body relaxation massage.
Sessions 21-32 – be guided through massage for clients with special needs and learn chair massage, followed by Sports massage techniques and advanced stretching techniques.
Sessions 33-46 – learn Trigger Point Therapy and massage business skills.
Sessions 47-56 – gain hands-on massage experience with real clients via our Student Massage Clinic.
This nationally recognised qualification will give you a comprehensive understanding of the human body and physiology and qualify you with a Certificate III in Massage Therapy Practice.
