NEW FITNESS EXPO FOR BRISBANE
02-06-2011

FITNESS – WELLNESS – CONVENTIONS – VENUES
The inaugural Brisbane Fitness and Health Expo at will be held at the city’s Convention and Exhibition Centre in October.
The Expo aims to tap into the growing demand for health and fitness solutions and capitalise on a market driven by an ever increasing awareness of the risks of obesity and related ailments caused by lifestyle and a lack of exercise.

The event will also cater to the broader market who are seeking health, fitness and general well-being solutions which complement their busy lives.
Event Organiser, Jason Greenhalgh, is the Queensland President of the Australian Marketing Institute and also manages his own boutique consultancy, Major League Corporate Marketing, which is based in Brisbane.
With extensive connections in Brisbane and an intimate knowledge of the market, Greenhalgh believes that the city is ripe for an Expo of this type.
Greenhalgh explains “we live in one of the best climates in the world to lead a healthy and active lifestyle and we hope the Expo encourages people to get out there and find a fitness solution that works for them.
“It’s amazing that in a city of over two million people there isn’t already an Expo of this type. It’s a big gap in the Brisbane market which I believe there is a significant appetite for.

“With health and fitness continuing to dominate headlines both locally and nationally, the Expo is well positioned to cater for many in the Brisbane market grappling with the demands busy lifestyles, the need to stay in shape and the desire to lead a healthy life.
“Brisbane is like any of the big cities on the east coast of Australia, there’s a significant proportion of people who are leading ultra busy lives and are looking for ways to improve their health and lifestyle.

“I believe that we’ll be able to tap into this market and hopefully it will provide the industry with a boost as well.”
The Expo will attract exhibitors from a wide range of businesses in the health and fitness category and hopes to attract around 6,000 customers in its debut year, a figure Greenhalgh is confident of exceeding.
He adds “this Expo will see a focus on information, education and entertainment. We’ll be creating something that people talk about and come back to again.”
The Expo will be held at BCEC on 15th and 16th October. Bookings for exhibitors have just opened and businesses in the health and fitness category are encouraged to be part of this event.
