Despite your passion for working out, after a long and tiring day of training back-to-back clients, it can feel like the last thing you want to do. This article explores some helpful strategies that you can implement to make sure your training gets the attention it deserves!
Plan your week in advance, and block out time for you to train just like you would schedule a session with a client, lunch breaks or time for managing your business. And just like you would never cancel on a client make sure that you never cancel on your own training! Your fitness, health and energy levels are all important factors in the success of your business so investing time every day to train is well justified.
Many Personal Trainers engage the services of other fitness professionals to help keep them motivated. Successful Personal Trainers put LOADS of energy into programming, instructing and motivating their clients so it is often a welcome psychological break to hand over your own fitness requirements to someone else.This is also a great opportunity to have your form and technique checked, and learn exercises and training tips from another fitness professional. Not prepared to pay for it? Why not reconnect with someone you did your course with, and set a regular weekly time to train each other and share your experiences so far as Personal Trainers.
By teaching a group fitness class such as a cycling or Body Attack, you will be getting a great workout as well as getting paid! This is an awesome way to add variety to your day, learn new skills and to meet potential personal training clients who will be participating in your class.
Set up a weekly running club and invite your clients to hit the road with you.You will have increased accountability to run and your clients will see added value in training with you, not to mention be progressing faster towards their goals. Everyone wins!
Sure, not all clients will want you to train with you, but if you have a good relationship with a client who may have a similar fitness level as yourself, why not get sweaty with them! This is a great way to squeeze your workout in, plus a way to further build your relationship with your client and motivate each other as well.
Remember, as a fitness professional it is important to have integrity and walk the walk’ when it comes to health and fitness.Your clients will see you as a role model, so set an awesome example and be sure to always invest time into your own training. By staying physically fit, the effects will cross over on to your health and benefit your immune system too, which is essential as a PT as if you are unwell and can’t train your clients, then you don’t get paid!
