Payment options

Regardless of your budget or circumstance, we can show you how you can start a long and rewarding career in the fitness or massage industry. A few of our payment options include:

  • Invest in your new career upfront, and with most courses you could save hundreds of dollars.
  • Take advantage of our student flexi plans to get you started.
  • Where eligible, get fee assistance with Smart and Skilled if studying in New South Wales*.
  • Where eligible, government subsidised training with Jobs and Skills WA if studying in WA**.
  • Students who meet the eligibility criteria can receive fee assistance with VET Student Loans if studying HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage.

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED TRAINING (NSW)

Smart and Skilled

Smart & Skilled – this training is subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible students. You may be eligible for a Smart and Skilled subsidised training place if you:

  • have left school and
  • live or work in NSW and
  • are an Australian citizen or a permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder or a partner visa holder whose sponsor is a humanitarian visa holder or a New Zealand citizen or
  • an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander who lives in an approved border area.

You will be required to submit evidence of your circumstances as part of your application: please refer to the Smart and Skilled Student Eligibility Policy  and/or AIF’s Student Handbook for further details of what to provide. You must also complete a Consent to Use and Disclosure of Personal Information Form, provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI) as well as declare your personal information and circumstances on AIF’s Online Enrolment Form (refer to AIF’s Student Handbook for further details).

You may be eligible for one of the limited Smart and Skilled Fee Free Scholarships if you are aged between 15 and 30 (inclusive) at the start date for training and eligible for a concession fee, meet the Out-of-Home Care definition at the time of enrolment and/or where you advise that you are aged 15 and over and either you or your dependants have experienced or are experiencing  domestic and family violence and have a letter of recommendation from a support agency. We encourage you to have a confidential conversation with one of our Career Gurus.

The Australian Institute of Fitness (RTO ID 121508) provides quality training under this scheme. Smart and Skilled is available on Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30321) and limited spaces for Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40221) in allocated regional areas.

An Australian Government Initiative

VET Student Loans

A VET Student Loans (VSL) is a loan provided by the Australian Government that helps students who meet eligibility requirements and who are enrolled in approved courses to pay their tuition fees. The Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF) (RTOID: 121508) is an approved VSL Provider for the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Students must meet the eligibility requirement to be approved for a VSL. Once approved, the student will owe a debt to the Australian Government for the loan amount until the debt is repaid.

Jobs and Skills WA

This training is subsidised by the WA Government for eligible students. You may be eligible for Jobs and Skills WA, if you: 

  • Reside in Perth region, Western Australia; and
  • Are an existing worker; and
  • Are an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia; OR
  • An eligible visa holder.

The Lower fees, local skills (half price) discount and fee caps have been applied to the Tuition Fee total displayed under Course Fees. Tuition Fee capping is not reflected in the fees displayed when looking at the cost per unit. Please note that fee caps only apply to the calendar year, so multi-semester courses across more than one calendar year may have a higher fee.
Lower fees, local skills are available to residents of Western Australia, and temporary residents holding certain visa types. They are not available for people living outside of Western Australia, or international students.

Who can access subsidised training such as the free or reduced-fee qualifications?

The WA State Government, through Jobs and Skills WA, subsidises vocational education and training (VET) courses in priority areas, to reduce or remove the fees and make training more accessible to all Western Australians.

The Department of Training and Workforce Development’s VET Fees and Charges Policy 2024 outlines eligibility for subsidised training in WA.

Am I eligible for the concession rate on the half price course fees?

The following people will be entitled to a concession rate on the Lower fees, local skills courses:

  • Persons who are aged 15 – 24 years, and have left school*
  • Persons and dependents of persons in receipt of services from one of the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs:
    • Workforce Australia; or
    • Parents Next
  • Persons and dependents of persons receiving the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
  • Persons and dependents of persons holding:
    • a pensioner concession card or Health Care Card; or
    • a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs
  • Dependents of persons who are inmates of a custodial institution.

Concession eligibility is outlined in the Department of Training and Workforce Development’s VET Fees and Charges Policy 2024.

How does the annual course fees cap work on the Lower fees, local skills qualifications?

The “annual fee cap” means that regardless of how much your annual course fees actually are, under Lower fees, local skills you will not pay more than the capped amount in a calendar year. There are two course fee caps, which one you pay depends on whether you are entitled to receive a concession rate or are at least 15 years of age but have not reached the end of the year in which you turn 25.

  • The concession rate annual course fee cap for Lower fees, local skills qualifications is $400, from the date the new fee applied.
  • The non-concession rate course fee cap for Lower fees, local skills qualifications is $1,200, from the date the new fee applied.

All students aged 15—24 years of age are eligible for the annual concession fee cap of $400 per qualification/course per year on all Lower fees, local skills qualifications, from the date the new fee applied.

If I turn 25 years old during my Lower fees, local skills qualification, am I still eligible for the annual $400 course fee cap?

Under Lower fees, local skills the $400 course fee cap applies to units of competency that are commenced by concession students, and by people aged between 15 and 24 years.

If you are turning 25 during your course, please contact us to check what course fees and/or fee caps will apply.

Are the Lower fees, local skills qualifications available if I study part-time? Or are they only for full-time study?

What if I start a Lower fees, local skills qualification but can't continue it?

If you re-commence units that form part of one of the Lower fees, local skills qualifications between the date the new fee applied to 31 December 2025, you will still be eligible for the half price course fee rates and fee caps.

If you have to withdraw from the course, you are entitled to a refund of the course fee for units that you withdraw from, before the unit withdrawal date (which is set by AIF as the training provider).

How much does it cost to study at the Australian Institute of Fitness?

Tuition cost varies depending on course, study modality and applicable scholarships. We have multiple payment options available, which our Careers Team will discuss to find the option that suits you.

What kind of career guidance and support will I be offered as a student at AIF?

Before you enrol, our Careers Team will provide you with industry expertise and guidance to help choose the path that suits you. In your success planning session, your Career Advisor will work with you to create a plan that aligns with your goals, including selecting the right course and modality for you. We will also discuss the potential career opportunities in your area of interest. Once you are studying with AIF, you will be exposed to presentations from industry professionals, business owners and managers, that provide valuable information and advice about a wide range of fitness career options. This support will help you to become successful in the fitness industry.

Does AIF help you get a job once you have completed your course?

With AIF, you’ll receive the support you need to position yourself for success in the fitness industry. We ensure our students have the most up-to-date and relevant information regarding fitness industry roles and connect you with job opportunities with our many Career Partners. You’ll also have access to regular industry presentations and our famous F.I.R.E (Fitness Industry Recruitment Expos) where you can meet key industry employers and secure a job or trainer experience placement.
