Lahnee Castro, Australian Institute of Fitness Queensland eCoach, reviews Hot 5 Fitness which allows exercisers to work out while having real personal trainers motivate, train and guide them from anywhere in the world.

Hot 5 Fitness have combines fast and effective workouts with a variety of training styles suitable for beginners and experts.

What Does it Do?

With Hot 5 Fitness the workout consists of 5 exercises that have a 1-minute duration. The three fitness levels are;

·  Easy (green)

·  Medium (blue)

·  Hard (orange)

To add these into a workout, participants can choose multiple workouts from each category to make up a 30-minute session. It is organized into abs & core, butt & legs, cardio & agility, muscle & strength, yoga & flexibility, and also has partner workouts.

What really stands out about this app is the series of range of motion exercises that keep your heart pumping with little or no equipment needed.

Hot 5 Fitness can track calories burnt via the MyFitnessPal app, sync your own information to the ‘Health’ app and create your favourite workouts. The videos are simple and easy to understand. There is also a ‘chat’ button to communicate with a Personal Trainer that will respond to any of your questions within 24 hours.

The free app gives you 10 free workouts and the premium pack can be purchased to include all 80 workouts.

Who Should Use it?

The Hot 5 Fitness app would be great for Mums and Dads that want to workout at home, workers on a business trip, or for those that have 5 minutes left of energy after a run. So if you are an on-the-go person and keen to be challenged you can now keep fit with only your mobile and the space around you!


This app’s overall rating would be 3/5. It was user friendly, its personal trainers were engaging and its video content was of a high calibre. On the downside it does use a considerable amount of battery power and you are unable to unlock its other workouts without purchasing the full app. The countdown feature however, was an outstanding aspect of this application.
