What Should I Do After Becoming a Master Trainer?

Jul 29, 2015 | by AIF

Being a Fitness Professional today is about more than a qualification. Our industry demands diverse experience, continuous learning, and professionals prepared to exceed expectations in order to stand out.

Being a great Personal Trainer or Massage Therapist requires a success strategy with clearly defined goals, but developing a meaningful and effective set of goals can be challenging!

With this in mind, the Australian Institute of Fitness has expanded from its Master Trainer™ and Massage Therapist qualifications to introduce three levels of recognition for different stages of your fitness career.

This will help guide you from gaining your initial qualification with us, to gaining experience in the field, expanding your knowledge, and then maybe even educating future generations!

Level 1: Getting Qualified

When you first come to study at AIF, you enter either the fitness or massage stream. During this time you become qualified to work in your chosen field out in the industry. Plus, our coaches will monitor your progress in six areas of professional practice: presentation, punctuality, attitude, attendance, performance and experience. These criteria were selected as the foundations of a great Personal Trainer or Massage Therapist by the industry, and success in these areas tells the employers that you are job ready, and will be a great asset to their business.

Level 2: Gaining Experience

Once you have been working in the industry for a while, and feel like your experience is making you a better professional, coming back to AIF to complete a second course will help boost your professional credentials.

Level 2 is all about combining a second qualification with your workplace experience, and being able to reflect on your impact on your chosen industry. Someone who is certified at Level 2 understands how important it is to always be striving to learn more, to develop their professional practice and seek new experiences.

Level 3: Mentoring Others

You’ve been working in your industry for a good few years now, and may want to give back!  diploma qualification will really boost your business, so coming back to AIF to complete a third course at this stage is key.

While you are studying, you mentor a Master Trainer or Massage Therapist student, gently guiding them through their studies, and helping them out in the industry. AIF recognises the importance of having great people like you, who want to help others and by doing so, improve the industry as a whole. These people are Level 3 Fitness Professionals.

The Australian Institute of Fitness Levels certifications have been developed to recognise those people who go above and beyond to upskill and be the best Personal Trainer or Massage Therapist they can be. They work hard to ensure that they walk the walk and talk the talk, and have a long successful career. They seek ways to help others, and in doing so, help themselves to grow and mature into world class leaders in their industry.
