For the next step in your personal training career, The Institute’s Personal Training Specialist will provide students will metabolic conditioning, advanced programming, and strength and conditioning skills.
You’ll become familiar with the latest trends in the fitness industry such as body weight training, ‘The Obesity Paradox’, the concept of TOFI (thin on the outside, fat on the inside), and how metabolic conditioning should be the cornerstone of client training sessions.

Personal Training Specialist
To be eligible for this course, students must hold a minimum Certificate IV in Fitness, have registration with Fitness Australia, a current First Aid certificate, and professional indemnity and public liability insurance. You also must have done done one of the following: (1) be a Master Trainer, (2) have done a metabolic conditioning, strength and conditioning or advanced programming CEC course within the past 12 months, or (3) hold a degree in exercise science, exercise physiology or physiotherapy. Students must also have a computer and internet access, and meet the Institute’s acceptance criteria.
Training and Assessment
This course is a combination of face-to-face and online delivery, using a variety of training and assessment methods to apply knowledge and practical skills. Students are encouraged to apply their skills within their own personal training position. It is a course requirement that students attend in-house practical training and assessment days as well external assessments. Course components include eChecks, online and written tasks and practical tasks.
